Význam udržitelnosti v oděvním průmyslu
Kavulová, Aneta
The bachelor thesis deals with the importance of sustainability in the clothing in-dustry from the point of view of companies and consumers. The issue of the cloth-ing industry is still a current topic in our society, it is necessary to look for more sustainable principles and procedures, as well as innovations that can help to solve these problems. To fulfil the goal, qualitative research was conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews (n = 8 for companies, n = 13 for consumers), also available secondary data were explored. The obtained data were assessed with use of content analysis and conclusions were drawn. Among the main recommen-dations is that companies devote themselves to educating their customers, as a lack of information has a significant negative impact on consumer behavior.
Sizing issues and anthropometric studies in mass-production of clothing in Czechoslovakia (1948-1953)
Foglová, Alena ; Storchová, Lucie (advisor) ; Nečasová, Denisa (referee)
The construction of the Czechoslovakian socialist state was accompanied by numerous social projects, through which the communist dictatorship strived to influence even the most ordinary aspects of everyday lives of its citizens. The mass production of the off-the-peg clothes, which was subject to the state scientific research, was characteristic of the clothing industry after the year 1948. As a result, extensive somatometric projects were run on the Czechoslovakian territory (ADAGO, GOLIÁŠ, DEKOLT I-III). Their purpose was to map the population sizes, create a unified clothes size scale and develop a new methodology for cut structure. Simultaneously with this research, discussions about the ideal fashion canon, which would reflect the socialist ideology, also took place. The thesis analyses the clothing expert discourse of the period in a broader context and takes into account its informative value with regard to the period's conceptions of clothing, corporality, and fashion. Key words socialist dictatorship, socialist ideology, clothing industry, off-the-peg clothes, somatometry, clothing research, anthropometry, expert discourse
The functioning of the distribution centre processing clothes in Great Britain today and after the possible automation of warehouse processes
Kúdelová, Lucie ; Pernica, Petr (advisor) ; Jirsák, Petr (referee)
The goal of this diploma is understanding and evaluation of the warehouse processes, the specification of problems and finding the best ways to deal with these drawbacks. The method used for the diploma is comparison. The theoretical part briefly focuses on the fashion logistics. The practical part then describes the distribution centre of the company Bonmarché Ltd. At first the functioning processes in all warehouse departments are specified and the problems are appointed. The second part focuses on the considered changes that would eliminate the problems. The final comparison will tell us whether these changes will solve the problems and enable the company to stay competitive on the British clothing market.
Financial analysis in the clothing industry
Mudrochová, Petra ; Marek, Petr (advisor) ; Makovec, Martin (referee)
Clothing industry is described by means of financial analysis comparing fifty Czech companies within the group production of other outwear. I made my own model evaluating the companies according to their indicators of profitability, activity, liquidity and gearing. Every indicator has a different weight. The first three best companies were Mimoska s.r.o., Atlas advertising group, s.r.o. and Oděva, výrobní družstvo. I compared my results with Altman's model that describes A-výroba pánských košil a lehké konfekce s.r.o., 3. Bhv s.r.o. a Rapid servis, s.r.o. as the most prosperous companies. The standard deviation between Altman's and my model is 4,88 and the coefficient of variation on average is 19,1 %. I also compared firms with similar companies in the European Union and 12 % of them were highly capable competitors. Finally I described the impact of recent financial crisis in the clothing industry and described the evolution of sales for each month of 2008 that had only 1 % rise in sales.
